Ts'ung Tubular Jade Middle to Late Neolithic Height 47.2cm Made of deep green jade suffused with an ochre blush, this tall square column tapers from top to bottom, with a vertical perforation running down the center. The wall is divided into 17 sections, each of which has four small-eyed mask motifs on it, making a total of 68 mask motifs. It seems to express an image that is a threefold combination of a deity, an ancestor and a magical animal.
